Content Creating : Anti-Bullying
In the first week of April, we created content to prevent bullying in the college. Eight classmates each produced about three anti-bullying contents and uploaded them to the Instagram campaign account. Among them, I would like to talk about the three posts that I made.

Various kinds of bullying can be exist in colleges. As an only Asian international student in this class, I tried to raise awareness of the racial bullying among them.
01. What is Racial Bullying
Here is another type of bullying that can occur in college. What’s Racial Bullying?
Racial Bullying is: “making belittled, mocked, intimidated, vilified, or shamed because of their physical appearance, ethnic background, religious or cultural practices, the way they talk or dress. It can include religious abuse and vilification. Also racial bullying can impact the students’ physical and mental health, attendance, and educational attainment.”

Let’s all become more aware of what Racial bullying is and how we can be end all forms of bullying. As always, Go Wolves! 🐺
I thought it is required to figure out the definition of racial bullying to deliver my purpose effectively. The helpful sources were here. Then I used Marron and Gold colors which are the Northern State University’s branded colors as the main mood of the content. Also, there is the logo of Northern on the top of the right side.
02. 2023-Spring Semester Korean International Students’ opinion about bullying in NSU
Do you think there is racial bullying in NSU? We asked about it to students from South Korea. 🇰🇷 Basically, they don’t think there are severe bullying cases about race or ethnicity. Unfortunately, however, some of them have experienced racial bullying in NSU.
Almost of the cases were related to making belittled them. Some students said “ni hao” to them, even though they were already aware that they were Korean.
Here is another case. When Korean students were on their way to go to the mall, some people suddenly opened the window in their car, shouted loud at them, and ran away. They said they were not sure if they were NSU students or not, but it means there is some racial bullying in Aberdeen, whether in-campus or out-campus.
Like above, sometimes we used to consider racial bullying as a not-that-serious problem.
The second post was about a real case of racial bullying around the campus. I interviewed some South Korean students in Northern and simplified their stories to make sure anonymity and to avoid writing down too many captions. Of course I also used the Northern’s color in here!
3. Why could they not feel racial bullying often in NSU?
NSU has students of various races and ethnicities and supports them. Last Thursday, we held a cultural festival to share food and festivals from various cultures. 🎊
➡️ check more about it @nsu.international
Our events of harmony and symbiosis can protect our students from racial bullying! Let’s share, experience, and understand each other’s culture. You can see that no race, no race, is superior or inferior to the other. None of us should be bullied because of our own race. 🇺🇸
If you’re struggling with racial bullying, feel free to ask for counseling.
NSU welcomes you. Go Wolves! 🐺
Even though there are a few racial bullying cases in NSU, as an international student here, I and my friends who are also foreigner could not feel racial bullying often so far. Then I thought that it is because of various culture-sharing events. At that time, there was a cultural festival that allow Northern people to share their traditional stuff or food. Additionally, there is a separated Instagram account for international students at NSU. So I tagged that account for giving more detailed information.
While making anti-bullying content, I got some advice for improving my content.
